Antique European Silver Figural Dinner Bell 4.8 oz. Sterling Silver
This antique European silver figural dinner bell is a stunning piece of silver to add to any collection! It features textured detailing throughout with intricate details on the face and gown of the woman. It does have a decent amount of tarnish, but it does clean up nicely. I polished the front panel of the skirt with a cleaning cloth and it shined up with eblow grease. There is some leftover silver polish residue (white spots) on the figure from the previous owner. The bottom of the bell has a thick rolled edge and the inside of the bell has an elongated teardrop-shaped clapper. The bottom outside edge of the bell has three hallmarks on it. These are not super easy to read. There is an import mark (estimated to be circa 1902-1918) on the upper portion of the skirt bottom on the outside (see photos). This import mark has a stylized "A" with a "7" or "V" next to it with a bird over it. Similar the the image of the import mark is shown in the photos for reference. I believe this piece is from Austria hence the "A." The bell makes a loud and clear sound. This European figural sterling silver bell would make an unique gift for yourself or someone else!
Condition: The bell has heavy tarnish and requires a detailed cleaning. It also has some white spots of silver polish residue. There is a dark spot of the bottom edge of the skirt by the import mark and hallmarks. Other than this, the bell is in excellent condition with no signs of damage. Please carefully review the images as they serve as an extension of the description.
